Nolan Sharp, MS, Director
Nolan holds bachelor and master of science degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University. After graduation he worked as an R&D engineer in Hewlett-Packard's high end Enterprise Systems Division. There he had the chance to do the physical design for what was at the time the largest ever fully customized application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC). He also taught digital circuit design at Stanford as a Teaching Fellow and Lecturer, and received a teaching award in 1997.
He first visited Croatia as a student, where he met his future wife, Sandra. After beginning their marriage in Silicon Valley, California, they decided to move to Croatia and form a department inside of Udruga Fokus to address the needs of professionals. Seven years later, Croatia has become their home.
Nolan and Sandra have two sons. Nolan enjoys jogging and reading The Economist and the works of GK Chesterton. He is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Domagoj Malovic, mag. ing. prometa, Secretary
Domagoj finished his master of engineering at the Department of Transportation Science of the University of Zagreb. He got an early start in programming with a group of friends from Sisak and was one of the original authors of “Sraz,” the first domestic computer game in Croatia.
After graduation he and his wife Biljana began working with Udruga Fokus in the student department. He also worked for several years in the media and film department. In 2004 he decided to explore professional employment in the IT field and began working for FINA, Croatia's largest provider of technical services to the finance sector. While at FINA he investigated and helped implement new technologies, such as the first use of 2D bar codes in Croatian utility bills. In 2007, appreciative of the experience he gained in the business world, he decided to rejoin the staff of the Udruga and expand the work of Svijet zaposlenih.
Domagoj and Biljana have two daughters. He is a cycling enthusiast and loves to explore Croatia’s lesser-known outdoor treasures.
